Principal Message
To The 2022-2023 School Year
Hello McClatchey family!
I am Alisha Cunningham, and I am extremely excited to start my first year as the Principal of DME. This year will mark my 28th year in public education. During my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional specialist, and, for the past eight years, as an assistant principal. Regardless of my position, one thing remains at the heart of everything I do….kids!
I wholeheartedly believe that all kids can learn at high levels. Our job as a school family is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that focuses on building relationships and pushing kids to reach their fullest potential. I am committed to working together with our families, staff, and community to create an outstanding school environment where all kids will enjoy learning and will flourish. I believe that a strong parent-school partnership is the foundation for success, and I welcome you to get involved, plug in, and volunteer. Whether you are new to the DME family or a returning one, you are welcome here!
I am beyond excited to get this year rolling and to meet all of you and your amazing kids! I look forward to our first year together, learning and growing with our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive community. I know that by working together, we can make this year the best one yet!
