Hello DME Families,
We are having a great year so far on our virtual and face-to-face journey with each of you.
Although this is a year unlike any we have seen in the past, our focus will still be to ensure that every child, every day is finding a way to feel connected; every child, every day is being challenged by new learnings and experiences; and every child, every day knows they have a staff member they can turn to!
As a staff, we have grown together through this unprecedented time. Our conversations about learning and best practices have been enlightening. The DME staff is committed to high quality instruction and building relationships with each DME student. We will also emphasize our social and emotional learning through circle time, our character education program, and our house system.
We have made many plans and put procedures in place to ensure a safe operation whether it is face-to-face or in our school. Our classrooms have been modified to increase social distancing, signage is installed throughout the building to guide students, and our schedule has been modified to allow for more time for hand washing, cleaning time, and opportunities to go outdoors.
Whether we are learning in person or remotely at home, our goal is to encourage active student engagement to develop student confidence through purpose, passion, and pride.
We want to partner with each of you this academic year. I am quite honored to work with such an outstanding staff and to serve each DME family.
